Why use LED horticultural lamps?

With horticultural LED lights, it is possible to grow plants easily indoors or in greenhouses, more safely than with a conventional horticultural lighting (HPS-MH).

The operating temperature of the LED horticultural lighting does not exceed 50 ° C while a sodium discharge lamp can reach 270 ° C which can cause burning and fire.

With a lifetime 7-10 times higher than conventional horticultural lighting, LEDs let you avoid the bulb changes.

LED lights are also much cleaner. So you reduce your environmental impact and save the planet.

Easy Installation

No need screwdrivers, pliers or other tools … LED horticultural lighting is Plug and Grow. Just hang the lighting within the rules of safety and connect the panel to a standard electrical outlet using the power cord provided.

Using a suitable power timer is recommended to control the switching on and off of the lighting.

 

Distance between plants and LED lighting?

Horticultural LED emit very little heat which often encourages users to place this type of horticultural lighting near the plant canopy.

This is a mistake that can harm plants. The new high power LED lights emit large amounts of light optimized to be assimilated by plants.

By placing these lights too close to the plants, plant receptors may be saturated. That is why the minimum spacing we recommend must always be respected.

The XMAX V4 must be placed at a minimum distance of 30 centimeters when used at full power. It is possible to reduce this distance to 20 cm when the power is less than 50%.

The use of mini-reflectors allows a wide diffusion of light to cover large culture surface.

The XMAX V3, as equipped with lenses that focus light output, should be placed at least 40-50 centimeters for full power operation. It is also possible to reduce the spacing to 30 centimeters below 50% of maximum power.

The luminous flux emitted by the XMAX V3 is really powerful; do not place the lamp too close to plants in order not to damage them. By placing the lamp at lower distances, you will not increase the productivity of your indoor garden.

What settings for my plants?

 

The XMAX are equipped with LED dimmers controlling different groups.

This allows you to adjust the spectrum and light intensity depending on the stage of development of your plants.

During the rooting phase, it is advisable to use only the controller 3 that controls the white LEDs and supplements. The light emitted is perfectly suited to maximize the development of the root system. Choose the light intensity depending on the surface to be illuminated. 50% of the power is in most cases sufficient for the first days of rooting.

Pre-growth

The pre-growth phase follows the rooting phase.

The recommended range for the first days of the onset of the roots:

  • Dimmer No. 1 (Red) - 10%
  • Dimmer No. 2 (Blue) - 30%
  • Dimmer 3 (whites and supplements) - 100%

Then increase the power:

  • Dimmer No. 1 (Red) - 30%

Growth

The spectrum issued by the XMAX maximum power is suitable for the growth and flowering. The possible settings are present on the lamps to allow the most experience to adjust the light depending on the reactions of their plants users.

Pre-Bloom

When the photo-period is modified to induce flowering (light passage from 18h to 12h per day for short-day plants, or vice versa for long day plants) plants tend to grow of a sudden reaction to this stress. This is called "stretch".

To limit this "stretch" it is possible to use this spectrum for a week:

  • Drives No. 1 (Red) - 50%
  • Drives No. 2 (Blue) - 100%
  • Inverter 3 (whites and supplements) - 100%

Flowering

After the rapid growth phase following the passage in bloom, the lamp can be used at 100% capacity and provide maximum energy plant to boost its development.
